Founded in 2016 by Manoj Malineni, Abhilash Dasyreddy, Nikhil Mandalika and Prashanth Rao; Wozart, a tech startup has launched its all-new innovative product, “The Aura Switch”. It is basically an amazing wireless home automation device that can fit behind any switchboard at your house. It also enables itself to be completely controlled from your smart devices.

When Manoj Malineni, one of the founders of Wozart wanted to automate his new house in Pune; he was very shocked at the unbelievably high prices of around Rs. 30 lakh, and a rewiring process that would take four-to-six weeks of time. While facing this problem himself, he went on to start his journey to make all this process fast and cost-effective.
He then roped in his friends and batchmates - Abhilash Dasyreddy, Nikhil Mandalika and Prashanth Rao to start this amazing company Wozart. These BITS Pilani Goa alumni aim to build sustainable and environment-friendly products in the IoT sector; with the aim to simplify and improve the quality of human life.
Other IoT players in the space include Smartron, which builds products from smartphones and tablets, and is also building its own cloud services - TronX - for its IoT practice. Cattleya Technosys is another IoT player in the telecom space. Despite landing in a very competitive market, Wozart made its way to one of the top IoT companies in India. The main reaso being its unwavering focus on the Research and Development field.
They achieved this by making a team of youngsters and freshers who had niche specializations that fit the requirements of the company. The team now has a manufacturing facility in Shenzhen, China, at an Apple licensed manufacturing unit.
Wozart Aura Switch
The first product built by the Wozart team is the home automation product Aura Switch, an Apple HomeKit, Google, and Amazon Alexa licensed product. As explained above, Aura Switch is a retrofit wireless home automation device, which fits behind any switchboard. It enables swift control of lights and appliances.
These can be controlled from your smart devices such as phones, tablets, watches, and smart speakers. In fact, once it is connected, your house can be controlled through your voice and geo-location too.
Nikhil is an interview said “You can set a Geo-fence around your house and set triggers to be executed when you enter and leave the respective fence. For example, you can set a 500 m radius around your house; and instruct all appliances to be turned off as soon as you leave that radius. Similarly, you can set a radius of 2 km in the summer and set the AC and coffee maker to be switched on upon entering the radius; so that your house welcomes you in the perfect way”.
Wozart products have become popular due to how they blend in with the home automation ecosystems at an operating system level to offer a seamless experience. Appliances can be triggered using a range of products supporting the operating system. For instance, Apple TV, Apple Watch or an iPhone can all control the home electronics.
The team claims to have won contracts with leading builders across the country. It is also expected to be completed successfully by end of 2019. They charge Rs. 20,000 for each unit, automating a three-bedroom house would cost Rs. 80,000.
Now it is only going to be a matter of a few more years, that these innovative products will be seen everywhere.
